About

The Second Wind Orchestra’s Marches, Multiculturalism & Music Therapy concert at the Boardmore Playhouse is presented in support of the Music Therapy Program for the Hospice Palliative Care Society of Cape Breton County and will be hosted by former CBC Journalist and Conductor of the Cape Breton Chordsmen, Hal Higgins. Since 2014, the band has been bringing awareness to this amazing program that can bring JOY to ones’ life and comfort to their loved ones as the end-of-life approaches. The stories shared by music therapist Jill Murphy have touched everyone that come into her presence. She has developed and conducts the hospice choir called “the Sunflowers” and they will be the bands special guest again for this show.
The band is under the baton of conductor Margaret Miles and they are preparing some Marches, folk songs and styles from different countries as well as our own beautiful country of Canada. The longer and brighter days are approaching and the band will celebrate the coming of the spring Equinox, with an original chart by one of their band members, Alex Bessant.

7pm | $23 (adult) / $8 (student)
