CBU Boardmore Theatre’s 54th Season of Plays: Lysistrata
Sydney & Area
About
CBU Boardmore Theatre’s 54th Season of Plays continues with Lysistrata, written by Aristophanes, translated by Ian Johnston, and directed by Jule Ann Hardy. In Lysistrata, the women of Greece, led by Lysistrata, initiate a sex strike to end the Peloponnesian War. There will be no sex until there is peace. Not only do the women deny their men, but they also seize the Acropolis, further complicating the situation. Ultimately, the men driven to desperation by the battle of the sexes, agree to peace talks. The play culminates in a joyous celebration as the warring parties reconcile.
