The Hike: These charming multiple-plunge falls are a wonderful hidden gem and are very nearly roadside, making for a quick and pleasant diversion just off the main highway between St. Peter’s and Sydney. To reach the base of the falls, simply walk back down the dirt road about 100 meters from where you parked and carefully make your way down to the bottom of the wooded ravine.
Please note: Historically known as Golhamkitk by the Mi’kmaq, this is a relatively unmaintained woods trail, so watch your footing as you descend into the ravine. While you are in the area, be sure to stop by Irish Cove Provincial Park (located right near the Highway 4 dirt road turnoff), which features stunning panoramic views of the Bras d’Or Lake!
