About
Cape Breton Community BandFest is a yearly event held nearby Sydney, Nova Scotia where concert band instrumentalists of all ages from the Martitimes (and beyond) come together to foster and celebrate “Music for Life”. Starting on Friday evening, the bands sight-read each piece with our guest conductors, followed by a pizza social. Saturday we practice and perfect our repertoire throughout the day and host a special social event in the evening. Sectionals also take place throughout the weekend with a clinician to work on technique for continued musical growth. Sunday afternoon completes the weekend festivities with a final performance for a local audience.
