About

The telephone, the airplane, the hydrofoil – the story of Bell’s involvement in these innovative works is featured prominently throughout this national historic site museum.

However, if you’re curious about the personal life and mind of one of the world’s greatest inventors, you need to take an exclusive opportunity for a behind-the-scenes tour on one of the Alexander Graham Bell National Historic Site’s White Glove Tours.
Limited to a small group of participants per tour, you will be taken to the White Glove Room that is accessible through a series of ramps within the site. Here, you’ll have a rare look into the life of Alexander Graham Bell along with the life of his wife, Mabel. You may also hear about some of their famous guests that visited them at their Baddeck residence as well as other lesser-known contributions and inventions that the Bells were responsible for. Each tour lasts 30 minutes.
Tour participants will be able to handle items and are verbally described by the guide. You’ll see artifacts, including Bell’s favourite jacket, a personal notebook, and a walking stick with an interesting backstory, and learn how Parks Canada is preserving the stories and items linked to Bell for future generations.
