About

Walk with us to Washabuck Falls for an afternoon of Gaelic storytelling and traditional song, concluding with a communal milling frolic.

Gaelic has survived in Cape Breton in ways it hasn’t elsewhere. The language, the songs, and the stories are still here, carried forward by communities who refused to let them go. This walk gives you a chance to hear that tradition from someone who knows it from the inside.
Robyn Carrigan joins us as our featured guest, sharing Gaelic language and lore as we make our way to Washabuck Falls. The outing closes with a milling frolic at the falls, a communal tradition where song and rhythm come together around a shared task in a way that’s easier to feel than to explain.
