Based on 89 ReviewsLouisbourg Heritage House Bed & Breakfast was built in 1886 and is located in the historical community of Louisburg on Cape Breton Island. This former church rectory has been a focal point of life in this seaside village for over 120 years and continues to offer comfort and enjoyment to all who enter its doors. Our six guest rooms are beautifully decorated, spacious and bright, and have a private ensuite bath and lovely original hardwood floors. Take in the sound of the seagulls and the fresh ocean breezes as you relax on your own private balcony and dream about life as it must have been years ago here in Louisbourg, on Nova Scotias “seabound coast.”
Louisbourg is located on the southeast coast of Cape Breton Island and offers miles of coastline with sandy beaches, hiking trails, an historic lighthouse and scenic picnic areas. It also offers restaurants and live entertainment. The Louisbourg Playhouse (adjacent to the boardwalk) is a 17th-century-style theatre in the round, a unique entertainment venue where visitors can enjoy outstanding performances of Cape Breton music interspersed with comedy and dance. The impressive walls and gates, homes, gardens, lively taverns, and costumed re-enactors at the Fortress of Louisbourg National Historic Site, the largest reconstruction in North America, recreate life as it was lived in this important French stronghold in the mid-1700s. The Cape Breton Highlands National Park and the legendary Cabot Trail are within easy driving distance.
Accommodations include 6 guest rooms (Queen, maximum 2 people), with ensuite 4-piece bath, television, clock radio, hair dryer, ceiling fan, wireless internet access and private balcony. There are no cots or cribs available (or permitted). A complimentary light breakfast is offered. Check-in is often a self-check-in with the host close by but not always on site. Pets are not permitted. Property is completely non-smoking. Visa, MasterCard and Direct Debit are accepted.
