About

Louisbourg Harbour Inn is a beautifully renovated century-old sea captain’s house, overlooking Louisbourg Harbour, situated in the heart of Louisbourg on Cape Breton Island.  Our harbourfront inn’s beautifully decorated guest rooms provide all the comforts of home, and most rooms and balconies offer wonderful views of our picturesque harbour with the Atlantic Ocean and Fortress of Louisbourg in the background.

Louisbourg is located on the southeast coast of Cape Breton Island and offers miles of coastline with sandy beaches, hiking trails, a historic lighthouse, scenic picnic areas, restaurants and live entertainment. The Louisbourg Playhouse (adjacent to the boardwalk) is a 17th-century-style theatre in the round, a unique entertainment venue where visitors can enjoy outstanding performances of Cape Breton music interspersed with comedy and dance. The impressive walls and gates, homes, gardens, lively taverns and costumed re-enactors at the Fortress of Louisbourg National Historic Site, the largest historical reconstruction in North America, recreate life as it was lived in this important French stronghold in the mid-1700s. Cape Breton Highlands National Park and the renowned Cabot Trail are within easy driving distance.

Accommodations include 7 guest rooms (Queen; maximum 2 people), with ensuite 4-piece bath, hair dryer and wireless Internet access. There are no cots or cribs available (or permitted). A complimentary light breakfast is offered daily. Check-in is often a self-check-in with the host close by but not always on site. Pets are not permitted. Our property is completely non-smoking. Visa, MasterCard and Direct Debit are accepted.
