With 100’s of waterfalls, Cape Breton Island has waterfalls for everyone! The only problem is having enough time to explore them all. To help out with this, we’ve made an exciting 3 Day Itinerary focusing on some of the Island’s favourite waterfalls.
Let’s get right to it! There’s no way you can be a waterfall chaser and not tackle the trail to North River Falls. This towering waterfall plunges over 30 m into a pool that’s perfect for cooling down after the 9 km hike into the falls.
Now that you’ve conquered North River Falls it’s time to head north to enjoy some easier to access waterfalls that will still leave you breathless!
Get ready to drive one of the most scenic portions of the Cabot Trail while you head south through Chéticamp and Margaree to Middle River on your way to explore Gairloch Mountain Falls.
This itinerary only included a few of the 100+ waterfalls on Cape Breton Island. If you’re interested in exploring more and entering our Waterfall Season Contest, travel over to our Waterfall Season page to see what other amazing waterfalls you can explore this spring!
