Taste of Autumn Promotional Opportunity IS NOW CLOSED

The Taste of Autumn – Where to Eat campaign is designed to promote food and beverage establishments who remain open with regular hours and a full menu until the end of October to serve visitors staying on the Island beyond the Celtic Colours International Festival. We had a great response from our 2017 campaign, so we’re gearing up for an expanded 2018 edition.
  
The promotion of participating food establishments is free of charge and will include:
– A profile of your operation on cbisland.com,
– A listing in the Taste of Antumn brochure, and
– Promotion through our social media channels.

Special Note: We are expanding the program this year to include farmers markets, food trucks, and farms that sell local food and welcome visitors.

2018 Industry Sessions and Updates

Destination Cape Breton Association held a series of Industry Sessions around the Island on Monday, March 19 and Tuesday, March 20, 2018.

These information sessions provided an opportunity for industry partners to receive information on the results of 2017 tourism season and an overview of the DCBA Strategy for 2018-19 along with an opportunity for discussion around marketing and promotional opportunities for industry operators.

Industry Opportunities

2018 Festivals and Events Program – Call for Applications IS NOW CLOSED!

Festivals and events are an important contributor to the tourism industry and the event program targets events with the potential to generate new visitation, or to better serve visitors to the Island; increase the length of stay and spending, and improve the quality of the visitor experience.

For all the applicants who received approval, please be sure to complete the ALL forms and submit them to DCBA six (6) weeks after the completion of your festival. Be sure to attach any support documentation (invoices, etc.) with the required forms.

Events & Experiences

We suggest that all operators list their events and experiences on NovaScotia.com, which will then feed to cbisland.com.

Accommodations

In order to be listed on cbisland.com accommodations must be licensed under the Tourist Accommodations Act & Regulations and demonstrate quality by participating in one of three recognized quality accommodation programs. More details on licensing and other information can be found here.

DCBA contracted the development of niche product inventories and assessments for culinary, winter tourism, trails, performing arts, and outdoor adventure over the past few years. Currently, DCBA is engaging with industry partners to move the recommended tactics in these reports forward. Copies of the reports are available for download by clicking the buttons to the right.
