Where the Fiddle Leads the Way
Along Cape Breton's musical Cèilidh Trail, Judique is a coastal community that produced fiddling legends Dan R. MacDonald and Buddy MacMaster, and keeps their tradition alive today. At the Celtic Music Interpretive Centre, catch interactive exhibits, live performances and a cèilidh every single lunchtime. The Judique Flyer Trail follows the exact route of the historic coal-fired steam train it's named for, offering a scenic journey along a former railbed with ocean views and trestle bridges that echo with history. Come August, the whole village turns out for Judique on the Floor, a festival named for an old rallying cry daring anyone bold enough to take the floor. In Judique, the music is always playing — and you're always invited.
