About

With over twenty years on the road and fifteen albums to his name, Nova Scotia’s Dave Gunning is one of Canada’s most respected folk singer-songwriters. A multiple ECMA and Canadian Folk Music Award winner, he’s celebrated for his warm stage presence, sharp wit, and songs that honour everyday heroes while speaking honestly about the world around us.
Deeply rooted in Pictou County, Gunning’s music tells the stories of working people, small-town resilience, and community pride. His live performances weave heartfelt storytelling with perfectly timed humour, creating an intimate, engaging experience that feels both genuine and profoundly human.
Having shared stages with legends like Ron Hynes, Rita MacNeil, and Matt Andersen, Gunning continues to forge his own path, grounded in craftsmanship and connection. His upcoming album, Field Notes—recorded in Point Lonsdale, Australia—returns to the stripped-back, emotionally rich songwriting that has long defined his work.
Join Dave for an evening of stories, songs, and songs of life lived fully, as he celebrates the release of Field Notes with a performance that promises to be heartfelt, moving, and memorable.
