About
Unwind and recharge at the Chéticamp Campground, nestled in the serene Chéticamp River valley between the river and mountains. Your campsite is the perfect setting to disconnect from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, with easy access to four of the park’s 26 hiking trails. A short drive leads to the vibrant town of Chéticamp and many nearby beaches. The campground offers both wooded and open campsites, as well as showers, flush toilets, kitchen shelters with wood stoves, fire pits, a playground, interpretive programs, hiking trails, and geocaching. The nearby visitor centre offers a nature bookstore and coffee. During the shoulder season, you can pay at the nearby visitor centre or by self-registration if the centre is closed.
Located in Cape Breton Highlands National Park, this is a quiet family campground by the Chéticamp River, with the mountains as a backdrop. Approximately 8 km north of the village of Chéticamp. There are 122 sites (most with fireplace) with 69 tenting, 24 hook-up sites (E, W, Se; 20-, 30- & 50-amp),14 with electrical, 10 oTENTiks and 5 equipped camping sites. Accessible sites are available. The park is open year-round, but full visitor services are only available from mid-May until mid-October.

· In Cheticamp: golf, sandy swimming beach, cultural museums, whale tours, craft shops, laundry, restaurants, groceries, gas stations
· Get the whole family involved in geocaching to find Parka’s hat and learn to identify 5 native trees. Earn a Parks Canada souvenir and have a ton of fun!
There are several walking/hiking trails, including:
· Acadian for panoramic views of the coastline
· Salmon Pools for an easier hike along the river.
· Skyline (a 15-minute drive away) for a truly magnificent view of the ocean & mountains.
