About

Experience the magic as The Barra MacNeils, one of Canada’s most beloved Celtic groups, celebrate 40 years of touring with a special performance at the HAT on August 11.

More than a concert, these milestone shows – by this internationally celebrated family group – will be a heartfelt reflection of their life in music shared with fans old and new. The Barra MacNeils will take audiences on an intimate journey, telling stories and performing the timeless music from their outstanding 40-year career.

“It’s incredible to think that we have been making music and maintaining a fan base for 40 years!” says Stewart MacNeil. “So much has happened in our lives in that time.
People come and people go. Music fads come and go. How people consume music has changed. Yet as a family we have beat the odds with the help of supportive family at home and supportive fans when we tour. And somehow we’ve managed to pick up new fans along the way. It really is something to celebrate.”
