The name “The Baddeck Gathering” Ceilidh came from a popular fiddle tune of the same name that was recorded by many Cape Breton musicians including the late Charlie MacCuspic to whose memory the Baddeck Gathering Ceilidh is dedicated. Thursday nights this season feature Melody and Derrick Cameron who live in West Mabou County on a small dairy farm. The duo has performed together for more than 20 years, playing dances, pubs and concerts throughout Cape Breton with Derrick on guitar and Melody on fiddle and dancing. Tickets on sale at the door between 5 and 7pm. Admission includes tea and locally baked oatcakes. Cash only. Reservations recommended.
