Join us for what is sure to be an unforgettable afternoon of music at the Port Hawkesbury Civic Centre Bear Head Room on Sunday, August 23rd, from 1:00 to 3:00 PM, starring Evelyn MacRae – affectionately known as Cape Breton’s Rose and a 2022 Nova Scotia Country Music Hall of Fame Inductee – along with an exceptionally talented lineup of musical friends and collaborators. Sharing the stage with Evelyn will be Sara Bennett, an internationally renowned singer celebrated for her remarkable vocal artistry and Everett Vass, Cape Breton’s own “Singing Realtor,” whose love of music, his enthusiasm, and resonant voice brings warmth and an energetic joy to every performance. Evelyn has invited several other local musicians too! This special concert will take audiences on a musical journey through many beloved genres, including Country, Rock, Classical, Sacred, Folk, Celtic, Show Tunes, as well as inspired Opera. The respective performers will present their favourite songs from around the world, with selections interpreted in several different languages, showcasing the beauty and diversity of music that transcends all cultures and generations. The performers are thrilled to share this afternoon of friendship, connection, harmony, and musical celebration with you. Come prepared to laugh, reminisce, and be inspired as these outstanding musicians bring heart-felt songs to life and engage the audience in an intimate and entertaining concert experience!
