About

Join us as we kick off Ocean Week Canada with a week-long celebration highlighting the importance of our oceans and coastal communities. The fun begins on Sunday, June 1st, at 2pm with an Opening Celebration at Iona Port featuring a barbecue, live music, NS Walks hike, Jump in the Lake, and more!
Throughout the week, the 9th Annual Àros na Mara World Oceans Day Festival will showcase interactive ocean displays, historical exhibits, hands-on activities, music, food, and fun for the whole family.
Don’t miss out on the International Trails Day celebration on Saturday, June 7th, with activities to inspire outdoor exploration and appreciation for our natural surroundings.
The festival will culminate on Sunday, June 8th, with the official Àros na Mara World Oceans Day celebration, focusing on this year’s theme: “Wonder: Sustaining What Sustains Us.” Let’s reflect on our connection to the ocean and the shared responsibility to protect it.
