Woodroad is a 25 seat restaurant offering fine dining experiences in Margaree Harbour. Located along the stunning coast of western Cape Breton Island (15 minutes north of Inverness’s famous Cabot Links and Cabot Cliffs golf courses and 20 minutes south of Cheticamp), Woodroad’s dining room is in the upper floor of a recently constructed timber frame home overlooking the Gulf of St. Lawrence. The house is perched on a bluff approximately 100 feet from the ocean. Views from the dining room and deck offer breath-taking vistas of the gulf, Margaree Island and a remarkable stretch of coastline. Our experience-focused dining room offers airy seating in the great room of the timber frame. Our open kitchen provides guests with an opportunity to participate in and learn about our local fare. Our menu changes frequently and takes inspiration from the land and the sea.
Woodroad is a collaboration between two brothers who each had a dream. Peter has worked in the forestry industry for the past 30 years. He has spent the last four years researching, sourcing trees, and milling the wood in order to construct this timber frame home. Daryl has spent the last 30 years honing his craft as a passionate, well-respected chef in the food & beverage industry. Together, they have created a culinary dining experience in a stunning location that is unlike any other on Cape Breton Island. Guests are provided with a unique opportunity that aims to engage all of the senses.
An evening at Woodroad begins at 6:30 pm. Upon arrival, guests are invited to explore the property while enjoying a welcome beverage and passed hors d oeuvres. The seated meal will begin at 7:00 pm when guests will be served seven seasonal & locally inspired dishes. The concept of a set menu means that we have taken away all the hard decision making. You just have to show up hungry! The evening will wrap up closer to 9:00 pm, but guests are welcome to continue exploring the property or relaxing with an after-dinner drink.
Open Thursday – Saturday: 6:30am – 9pm, Sunday 11am – 1pm
Closing October 31, 2020
