About

The Royal Hotel is located at the heart of downtown Sydney on beautiful Cape Breton Island.

Built in 1895, the Royal Hotel provides 14 interestingly unique suites, each depicting a rustic feel and allowing for the natural beauty of time to shine by sharing its story. For your convenience, there is a kitchenette on the 2nd and 3rd floor, we are pleased to provide our services in English and French, and are proudly Rainbow registered.
The Royal Hotel is a historical boutique hotel. We have been greeting guests since the late 1800s and the richness of our history continues to amaze many. For in those years, the British Empire needed a Royal banner at the entry point of the city. The Royal Hotel is conveniently located, facing Sydney’s scenic Harbor waterfront, and nested around restaurants, shops, museums and theaters.
Book your stay in one of our original vintage rooms and allow yourself to step back in history. Our lobby still has its working fireplace and our walls are covered by authentic paintings from local artists. Throughout the years, this very unique hotel has passed on ownership to only three families. Come take part of our Royal family, for we are a very personalized hotel, and together we forge memories, and create history.
Royal Hotel – Creating authentic customer experiences where history, charm, and exceptional service collide.
