It is Waterfall Season on Cape Breton Island! Whether you’re looking for a relaxing stroll or a challenging half-day hike, there is an amazing view of a waterfall waiting for you. And here’s the great news, by visiting our pre-selected waterfalls you could win an amazing Cape Breton Waterfall Adventure Weekend for two! Learn more below.
Download the Cape Breton Waterfall Season App
The Waterfall Season App is a must-have for this contest! This app lists the pre-selected waterfalls and their locations where you can scan a QR code for your ‘digital passport.’ Each pre-selected waterfall included in the Waterfall Season campaign will have a sign located near the falls. Before you begin your waterfall adventuring, be sure to download the app as some locations may not have cellular service.
How do I Enter the Contest?
After you’ve installed the app, visit one of our waterfalls and scan the QR code when you find the Waterfall Season sign near the falls. Every QR code scan is eligible for a stamp. Three STAMPS gives you your first automatic entry into the draw for a Cape Breton Adventure Weekend. Every stamp after the first three will qualify for an additional entry.
If you do not want to use the app and QR codes, you can take a photo of yourself and our waterfall sign and send the photos to [email protected]. We must receive three photos of yourself at different waterfalls to be entered into the contest. Every extra photo received will qualify for an additional entry.

Enjoy your time on Cape Breton Island by experiencing some of our best local cuisine! Woodroad is a 25 seat restaurant offering fine dining experiences in Margaree Harbour. Located along the stunning coast of western Cape Breton Island , Woodroad’s dining room is in the upper floor of a recently constructed timber frame home overlooking the Gulf of St. Lawrence. The house is perched on a bluff approximately 100 feet from the ocean. Views from the dining room and deck offer breath-taking vistas of the gulf, Margaree Island and a remarkable stretch of coastline. Their experience-focused dining room offers airy seating in the great room of the timber frame. The open kitchen provides guests an opportunity to participate in and learn about our local fare. Their menu changes frequently and takes inspiration from the land and the sea.
