Blessing Tangban is an award-winning, Nigerian singer-songwriter and guitarist. Her sound is a unique fusion of emotionally stirring Afro-folk melodies that melds evocative storytelling with the ethereal sounds of her acoustic guitar. Emerging from the vibrant New Orleans jazz scene, Tangban debuted her vulnerable and introspective folky sound with the EP Nowhere Girl in 2014. She released her first full-length album in 2017 when she returned to Nigeria. Collaborations with top African musicians, tours within Nigeria, and in South Africa, USA and Canada, and a string of singles followed. Blessing Tangban now resides in Dartmouth and will be joined in this special, International Women’s Day concert by Joella Foulds and Billie Yvette Rogers.
