About

Explorer’s Cottage is a 4,000-square-foot, four-bedroom cottage with a refined interior, located in the heart of Cape Breton Island, convenient to sightseeing in all directions. This waterfront cottage is located on a UNESCO biosphere reserve and has a private beach on the Bras d’Or Lake, an inland sea that is connected to the Atlantic Ocean. Explorer’s Cottage provides an authentic country cottage experience on 150 wooded acres, with a beach, a botanical park-like forest with hundreds of planted trees, bird watching, an orchard, a Japanese meditation garden, paved pathways, and a hiking path. Included: Wi-Fi, coffee beans and tea, TV, a library, charcoal and propane barbecues, firewood, fishing gear, a paddleboard, snowshoes, and a canoe.
Another cottage, Raspberry Cottage, is just across the street, though the two cottages are not visible to each other. Raspberry Cottage has four bedrooms with queen-sized beds, and it offers a water view of the Bras d’Or, a raspberry field, and an apple orchard.
