Waterfall Chasers – A Coastal Retreat
Exploring Ingonish is a 'must-do' for anyone travelling along the famous Cabot Trail. Ingonish is home to pristine beaches and exhilarating trails with breathtaking views. Black Brook Beach is one of these great locations as it offers something for everyone, great coastal hikes, a beach to play in and a waterfall to explore!

Time to explore!
Black Brook Beach, home of Still Brook Falls is one of the best spots along the Cabot Trail loaded with activities for everyone. Swimming is the first option, but there are many more. Jack Pine and Coastal Trail are next to the beach, one of which leads up to a waterfall after a few minutes of walking. You can sit on top of the waterfall with a beautiful view and overlook the entire beach. It is also a great location for families; washrooms are just a minute away and picnic shelters with a playground are on site. My personal favourite part of the beach is listening to the pebbles being dragged into the ocean after a wave crashes on the shoreline, it’s a unique and memorable bonus of visiting the beach.

Time to eat!
After an afternoon of adventuring in Ingonish we enjoyed our supper at the Main Street Restaurant. The appetizer we ordered was a tasty bruschetta on focaccia bread. Since Ingonish is a fishing village, I had no choice but to order the seafood linguine! It was loaded with the highest-quality, locally-sourced lobster, halibut, mussels, shrimp and scallops. The dessert was a homemade slice of blueberry pie. The restaurant has a nice atmosphere and each staff member made our visit pleasant and memorable.

Time to relax!
After a full day, a private cottage with a beachfront view was perfect for unwinding. Seascape Coastal Retreat is in the heart of Ingonish and is perfect for relaxation. Our cottage had a hot tub on the deck where we watched the sun fade behind the hills of the Cape Breton Highlands. There is also air conditioning, a fireplace for cozy nights, a barbeque and a full kitchen ready for you to put it to use. The experience at Seascape was peaceful and luxurious.

Cape Breton Island is filled with amazing adventures and experiences for every traveller. Be sure to explore our website to find an experience perfectly suited for you!
