Minutes from the Cape Breton Highlands National Park, Riverside Retreat is ideally located along the Cheticamp River in the small village of Petit Etang. As a new campground, every effort has been made to keep true to the natural landscape.
Open from the May long weekend until mid-October, choose between walk-in tent campsites, 50 amp electric sites for camper trailers. All sites come with a fire pit and picnic table. Firewood is available for sale onsite. Pets are permitted.

Canoe, Kayak, and SUP Rentals
Whether you’re exploring Cape Breton or staying with us in our Riverside Retreat Campground, you are able to explore the river and our beautiful location by renting our canoes, single or double kayaks and stand-up paddle boards (SUP) for half-day or full-day rentals.
