Housing Canada’s most extensive Carboniferous Plant Fossil display, this is your chance to connect with 300 million years of Earth’s history as you wander through fascinating exhibits showcasing over 800 fossils.
Get hands-on in our dedicated labs, or join a daily tour led by our passionate guides where you can listen to stories that reveal the past through the fossils on display. You can even go on a self-led fossil hike to explore the coastline to find your own hidden treasure.
Located within the historic train station building (circa 1905), adjacent to the Cape Breton Fossil Centre, visit the Sydney Mines Heritage Museum to learn about the town’s history through displays containing artifacts donated by the local community.
