About
Our history goes back over 75 years to our humble beginnings in 1948. With a small loan from his sister in Massachusetts, a passion for baking, an incredible work ethic and support from his large family, Lloyd McFadgen Sr together with his wife Rita started McFadgen’s Bakery in Glace Bay Nova Scotia. Using only the highest quality ingredients producing consistent and superior baked goods, his reputation soon demanded delivery to the many stores in the bustling coal mining town of Glace Bay. After a few years more delivery routes were added to neighbouring towns and rural Cape Breton Island.
Our main bakery is still in the same location, we are now in our third generation of McFadgen’s. We have the same commitment to quality, the same passion for baking and follow the same standards displayed by our grandparents. We still source only the finest ingredients, and deliver among the highest quality baked goods.
