About

Gypsum Mine Lake is a 2.6 kilometre out and back trail located near Cheticamp that is good for all skill levels. The trail is primarily used for hiking, walking, and nature trips.

At the top of the ridge, you go in between two small hills and into the secret swimming spot: an old gypsum quarry.

PLEASE NOTE: Please take the proper precautions before attempting to walk or skate on the lake, as the lake has many springs feeding into it and may not be safe to venture on, therefore, we do not recommend winter activities on the Lake.
As with any body of water that has frozen over, the proper precautions are important. Stay safe!
