A weekend of Mi’kmaq culture, ancestry, and healing will take place during a sacred gathering in Unama’ki during Wi’kipaltimk 2025. This weekend event will feature Mi’kmaq culture at Open Hearth Park over three days of song, dance, Indigenous cuisine, vendor artistry, Elders gathering, and main stage performances. Wi’kipaltimk is the Mi’kmaq word for feast but it is more than a meal, it is a sacred act of gathering with purpose. It represents honour, healing, cultural expression, and intergenerational unity through ceremony, song, dance, and storytelling.
Jukwita’q, come join us as we honour Indian Day School Survivors and celebrate Mi’kmaq culture, with music, a mawio’mi, a cultural village, and a crafters marketplace all at Open Hearth Park.
