Montreal-based Reid Thomas is one of the last true blues troubadours, a couch-surfing maestro. His music is heavily influenced by his love of blues and country music but also by his passion for poetry and storytelling. He has been writing since childhood and was named Poet Laureate of John Abbott College before earning a bachelor’s degree in creative writing at Concordia University. It is said that he minored in Gaelic to pick up girls. Reid had been playing music for as long as anybody can remember but he started to take his songwriting more seriously in his teenage years. Since then, he has wandered around the world doing odd jobs, meeting odd people and collecting odd stories. After a successful European tour in 2019, Reid shifted his professional focus back to music and has played shows all over Canada, the United States, Belgium, Germany, Austria, France, and the Czech Republic. Don’t miss him when he stops in at Breton Brewing for a free show on Friday evening.
