About
Counter Culture: Seeds of Resistance—a mixed media exhibition curated by Hailey Storm through the Centre’s Elevate: The Emerging Curators Program—explores the relentless corruption of one of our most sacred commodities: food. This show, on display until at Cape Breton Centre for Craft & Design until January 9, 2026, features works by Anne Morrell Robinson, Nelson A. White, Rhonda Ferguson, Adrienne Gasior, Cora Parago, Alana Wilson, and Kelsey Watson.
As part of the exhibition, there will be various workshops and events including We Grow Together: Collaborative Collage (November 15); At the Table: A Conversation on Food Equity and Resistance (November 22); Pot, Pattern, Place! Building and Imprinting on Ceramics with Local Materials (November 29); and the Closing Party: Zine Giveaway (January 9, 2026).
Counter Culture: Seeds of Resistance is presented with support from TD and Canada Council for the Arts | Conseil des arts du Canada.
