Ingonish is one of those storied places where all your troubles melt away. It's home to beautiful beaches, mountains, lakes, rivers and waterfalls and they're all waiting for you to be explored. If you're not the outdoorsy type, don't worry! There are cute cafés, artisan shops and superb restaurants.

The Great Outdoors

If you're an outdoor lover then Ingonish is where you want to be!  Hikers will have a hard time leaving Ingonish since it's home to 5 great hikes that'll take you to some of the best views on the Island. Franey Mountain, Warren Lake, Fresh Water Lake Trail, Middle Head Trail and Cape Smokey Provincial Park are all great trails that vary in difficulty so there's a hike for everyone. If you're not a hiker, don't worry! With great beaches like Black Brook Beach, Ingonish Beach and Warren Lake  you'll never run out of places relax in the sand.

Cafés, Fine Dining and Bakeries

You name, Ingonish has it! Fine dining while over looking the ocean? Check! Cute and cozy cafés with unique foods and gifts? Check! How about bakeries with fresh baked bread and cookies? Check! There's not much else you could ask for, but if you did we'd bet you could find it in Ingonish!

Cape Smokey has quickly become a standout destination in the village of Ingonish. This year-round mountain playground, where land meets sea, features Atlantic Canada’s first gondola and Nova Scotia’s highest ski hill with sweeping views of the Cabot Trail, the Atlantic Ocean and Cape Breton Highlands National Park. From winter skiing, snowboarding and snowshoeing to summer hiking, kayaking and special events with live music and local flavours, Cape Smokey offers unforgettable experiences in every season

Home to the Keltic Lodge, Cape Breton Highlands National Park and Cape Breton Highlands Links

In case you're wondering why Ingonish has so many great attractions and experiences it's largely due to the Cape Breton Highlands National Park. This Park, created in 1936, is home to 26 hiking trails, the iconic Keltic Lodge and one of the best golf courses in Canada, the Cape Breton Highland Links.  The presence of Parks Canada ensures the hiking trails are well maintained, the beaches are accessible (to all) and great programs to help enrich your experience while staying Ingonish.
