Pride Cape Breton Festival: Pride Parade and Party in the Park

Sydney & Area

Aug 9

About

The biggest parade on Cape Breton Island is BACK! We think this deserves some celebration, don’t you agree? Come OUT and show your PRIDE. Everybody should be proud to be themselves; no matter sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, race, age, ability, or beliefs spread love and show the world that you are #PROUDTOBE YOU!

This year we celebrate 25 years since the first Pride Parade in Sydney and we can’t wait to see you!
Please note our usual parade route has changed this year! This year’s parade will begin lining up on George Street past Dorchester. The parade will turn onto Dorchester towards the Esplanade. The parade will continue along the Esplanade, then turning onto Townsend. We will then turn onto George Street heading towards Wentworth Park. Finally we will exit George Street, towards Argyle, then Crescent where we will conclude with the Party in the Park!

PARTY IN THE PARK will follow immediately following the end of the Pride Parade for a fun-filled afternoon of games, vendors, and some daytime drag performances! We are excited to be at Wentworth Park this year and will start shortly after the parade ends.  Stroll through the Rainbow Market where you’ll find a variety of local vendors and creators with products for purchase.
