Mawio’mi means the gathering of friends, elders, youth and community members with activities, food, song and prayer, to bring people into a welcoming and safe area. Tewitk means where water flows out. Mawio’mi Tewitl is a vibrant community event at the Grand Narrows waterfront to celebrate Mi’kmaq friendship and culture including performances by local Indigenous musical artists, traditional storytelling, cultural demonstrations, and craft workshops and market.
