About

Josh Janes is quickly making a name for himself as one of Atlantic Canada’s most promising country voices. Hailing from Newfoundland & Labrador and now based in Cape Breton, Janes brings a fresh blend of modern country grit and timeless musicality to every track he creates. Music has been at the core of Josh’s life since age 10, when he started playing drums. By 15, he had picked up the guitar, and by 17, he was crafting lyrics that turned personal stories into universal anthems. With a clear creative vision and a voice that cuts through the noise, Josh Janes is poised to make his mark as one of Canada’s most exciting new country artists.

His debut album, Seasons Change, introduced fans to his acoustic-pop roots, pulling influence from Jack Johnson, John Mayer, The Band CAMINO, and a touch of Eric Clapton. Introspective and laid-back, the record showcased a softer side of Janes, rooted in melodic storytelling and rich guitar tones. Now, with his second album in the making, Janes is stepping fully into the country space—a sound shaped by the writing style and vocal textures of Morgan Wallen, the raw execution and emotional grit of Zach Bryan, and guitar work reminiscent of Zach Top and Vince Gill. Add in layered harmonies and musical craftsmanship inspired by The Eagles, and Janes’ upcoming project is primed to resonate with both new fans and longtime country listeners.
