Born in Dublin, Ireland and known as Dublin’s Traveling Troubadour, Fran Doyle came to Canada in 1977 with his band Shades of Green for a six-week tour. They were so well-received they stayed for a year. And then Doyle decided to go solo and now witty, Irish folk singer resides between Nova Scotia and Florida. With a repertoire featuring Irish folk music, with a few Scottish folk tunes and Canadian Maritime songs mixed in, Doyle’s performances are broadly appealing and he has entertained thousands of people throughout the Maritimes with his melodious folk songs and Dublin humour for more than 40 years.
