CBRM celebrates 30 years on New Years Eve
Sydney & Area
About
The Sydney waterfront is the place to be on New Year’s Eve as Cape Breton Regional Municipality continues the year-long celebration of our 30th anniversary year. Bringing us all together to the mainstage is Jimmy Rankin, one of Canada’s most beloved and enduring singer-songwriters, known for his masterful storytelling and signature East Coast folk-rock sound. He first rose to fame as a member of the multi-platinum group The Rankin Family, whose blend of Celtic, folk, and pop music helped define a generation of Canadian music. Today, as a solo artist, Jimmy has released eight acclaimed albums. Together with The Rankin Family and through his solo work, he has won five JUNO Awards, seven Canadian Country Music Awards, and an impressive 27 East Coast Music Awards. Matt Minglewood, The Town Heroes, Adam Baldwin, and Tracey and Martina round out the lineup of live entertainment. There will also be a ferris wheel on site and the evening will feature a drone show and fireworks.
