North Star is the new name for the recently renovated accommodation formerly known as Point of View Suites in Louisbourg on Cape Breton Island. Situated on a four acre peninsula overlooking the Atlantic Ocean and Louisbourg Harbour, the hotel was remodeled in 2022 by Scottish TV designers Colin and Justin (Channel Five UK, Cottage Life TV, HGTV and Cityline) to create a range of suites and rooms that offer a unique connection to the wonders of this coastal region. Many of the rooms enjoy spectacular ocean views and vistas to the world famous Fortress of Louisbourg, with others offering garden and sunset views.
North Star is the closest hotel to the Fortress of Louisbourg - a spectacular recreated French fortification, one thats highly Instagrammable and offers visitors a unique chance to step back in time and enjoy the lifestyle, homes and cuisine of the 18th century. The hotel is also within walking distance of the Louisbourg Playhouse where you can enjoy Cape Breton music, live theatre and dance. Its also ideally located to explore miles of rugged Atlantic coast hiking trails, bracing rocky coves and dramatic ocean waves. Take time on quiet unspoilt beaches to relax and contemplate, or enjoy the rocky coastline as you connect with nature and watch seabirds circling the celebrated Louisbourg Lighthouse.
Breakfast, lunch and dinner are offered (subject to availability) and the resorts Saturday and Sunday brunch have become a legend in their own lunchtime!
Twelve units offer ocean views, with 10 suites having compact kitchens: ideal for longer stays. All units were redesigned in 2022 and have queen beds, cable television, free internet, hairdryers, fridges and microwaves.
Visa, Mastercard and American Express are accepted.
