Hideaway Campground & Oyster Market offers open and wooded campsites overlooking scenic Aspy Bay in the community of South Harbour on Cape Breton Island. South Harbour is situated at the half-way point on the legendary Cabot Trail.
We are a small, friendly campground that offers activities for the entire family including a childrens playground, horseshoe pits, recreation hall with a pool table, and a hiking trail to the Aspy River. Relax on our patio deck and join us for Aspy Bay Oysters, snow crab or lobster at our licensed eatery.
Hideaway Campground is also close to pristine sandy beaches, beautiful views, and wildlife.
Other nearby activities includes canoe and kayak rentals; whale watching tours, gift shops and restaurants. Our central location makes us a great home base to visit other part of the Cabot Trail, such as the Highland Links golf course and the Acadian village of Chéticamp.
Our accommodations include 60 overnight sites (27 serviced, 33 unserviced, including 7 camping cabins including a replica lighthouse cabin, 1 glamping tent and 1 rental trailer) + 8 seasonal sites.
