664 East Big Intervale Road

TripAdvisor Traveler Rating

Trip Advisor Rating Based on 8 Reviews

Unique pottery reflecting the bounty, wildlife, and sea life of the Island. Studio/gallery in a renovated barn two minutes from the Cabot Trail. Cape Breton clay is not available anywhere else in Cape Breton or Nova Scotia and is sold exclusively at Bell Fraser’s gallery shop in Margaree Valley.

Canadian House & Home Magazine

“While undoubtedly modern in its simplicity, her work calls to mind such precedents as Victorian majolica shell plates, or the renowned platters of renaissance potter bernard palissy…while there is some whimsy here, there is nothing cute; souvenir clichés are elevated to artistic subjects.”

If you’d like to stay in the Margaree area, we have the perfect cottage for family groups! with three bedrooms for as many as 6 people, you will be able to savor the pastoral beauty of the famed Margaree Valley, only two minutes from the world-famous Cabot Trail.

This was the childhood home of Bell, on the same grounds as her gallery; there are lovely gardens, a brook on one side, proximity to a great old-style general store, and one of Cape Breton’s renowned eateries – the dancing goat bistro, just two minutes away!

664 east big intervale rd., Margaree Valley, NS.  There’s a 3-day minimum and the cost is $160/night + HST
