1. A Gem Through and Through
The Dundee Resort & Golf Club, located on the Bras d’Or Lake, is a true Cape Breton Gem. The property hosts a beautiful setting, with spectacular views of the Bras d’Or Lakes and Dundee Golf Course. All of which is nestled in the rolling hills of Cape Breton, and can be located only 20 minutes from the Canso Causeway. I had the opportunity to stay there this summer and would like to share my experience with you!
2. Finding Your Way
Located in West Bay, this lakefront resort can be found on the shores of the Bras d’Or Lake, and is within 20 km of Upper MacMillan Lake and MacLeod Brook Nature Reserve. With ample signage along the way, the resort is a 1.5-hour drive from Sydney and a 2-hour drive from the historic area of Louisbourg. Dundee Resort and Golf Club is also within 59.5 km from the famous Cabot Trail.
3. Tee Time Anyone?
Dundee Resort’s 18 Hole Championship Golf Course ascends the side of South Mountain, providing incredible views of the Bras d’Or Lakes and surroundings. As you continue to the top of this amazing golf course, you will be able to experience captivating views of this beautiful peaceful island gem.
The golfing experience was certainly a fun and challenging one that is suitable for golfers of all skill levels. Tee Times can be made online or by calling the golf shop at (902) 345-0420 during posted business hours.
4. The Clubhouse
Dundee has a full-service restaurant and fully licensed pub that serves great food at reasonable prices. The Clubhouse seats 40 guests with a beautiful wrap-around deck outside that seats an additional 40 guests as well.
5. Resort Life is the Only Life
The rooms were spacious, comfortable and clean. All 97 rooms offer free WiFi, room service and cable TV. Other amenities available included, coffee/tea makers, hairdryers and safes. Staying at the Main Lodge of the Dundee Resort allowed for spectacular views of the Bras d’Or Lakes and Dundee’s Golf Course.
If rooms/suites are not for you Dundee also offers accommodations in their cottages. You’ll find Dundee Resort Cottages just a short walk from the Main Lodge. They are a favourite among Cape Breton vacation rentals for larger families.
Throughout the resort, you have the chance to enjoy complimentary scheduled recreation activities including canoeing and kayaking from their lakeside adventure centre.
Whether you want to spend the day relaxing on the beach or practice your swing at the on-site golf course, Dundee Resort & Golf Club is the perfect place to get away from it all and just relax.
