À propos
St. John’s Centre for the Arts is located in the heart of historic Arichat, Nova Scotia. Constructed in 1895 and designed by renowned architect William Critchlow Harris, the building is noted for its excellent acoustics, beautiful woodwork and stunning views of the Atlantic Ocean. You may even catch the Bluenose II docked at the wharf just down the hill.
Originally an Anglican church, St. John’s Centre for the Arts is owned and operated by the Friends of St. John’s Arichat Society, who preserve the building for its heritage value and use the space as a multipurpose venue. The building is a municipally designated heritage building; was featured in the 2024 Next Great Save competition, and is one of the few remaining historic buildings in the community.
