Pjila’si Unama’kik | Welcome to the Land of the Fog: A Great Taste of Canada Experience

Join us for an unforgettable culinary and cultural journey through Mi’kma’ki, hosted in Cape Breton with storytelling, ceremony, and a feast to remember.
On September 27, 2025, guests are invited to experience Unama’kik (known today as Cape Breton Island) through a full-day cultural and culinary journey rooted in Mi’kmaw traditions. The day begins with a guided visit to Eskasoni Cultural Journeys, including a fire-roasted lunch in a setting that honours ancestral knowledge.
After time to explore the area, Parks Canada welcomes guests to the historic Fortress of Louisbourg for A Taste of Lnue’kati — a long-table feast by Chef Geordy Marshall, Bear Clan, Eskasoni. Each course is a tribute to Mi’kmaw ingredients, language, and land, paired with local craft beverages and introduced with storytelling. The evening includes performances by Emma Stevens, Graham Marshall, and Beverly Jeddore, closing with live music, cultural connection, and communal celebration.
This experience is part of the Great Taste of Canada experience series and represents a partnership between the Culinary Tourism Alliance and Parks Canada — organizations dedicated to sustainable tourism that uplifts culture, heritage, and place.
