Fête du chocolat at the Fortress of Louisbourg
Louisbourg & Area
À propos
What better way to connect with our heritage than indulging in that timeless, universal treat: Chocolate. In 18th-century Louisbourg, chocolate was expensive, and a luxury most often found in the homes of the French elite.
And if we don’t have enough reasons to enjoy chocolate already, during the 18th century it was believed to have medicinal properties, warming people from the inside, and giving them strength and energy.
Indulge in this delicious treat at the two-day Fête du Chocolat, led by Maritime chocolate makers Evertide Cholate Makers, Chocolat Voyageur, and Island Chocolates, at the Fortress of Louisbourg National Historic Site.
