À propos

Hideaway Campground & Oyster Market offers open and wooded campsites overlooking scenic Aspy Bay in the community of South Harbour on Cape Breton Island. South Harbour is situated at the half-way point on the legendary Cabot Trail.
We are a small, friendly campground that offers activities for the entire family including a children’s playground, horseshoe pits, recreation hall with a pool table, and a hiking trail to the Aspy River. Relax on our patio deck and join us for Aspy Bay Oysters, snow crab or lobster at our licensed eatery.

Hideaway Campground is also close to pristine sandy beaches, beautiful views, and wildlife.
Other nearby activities includes canoe and kayak rentals; whale watching tours, gift shops and restaurants. Our central location makes us a great home base to visit other part of the Cabot Trail, such as the Highland Links golf course and the Acadian village of Chéticamp.

Our accommodations include 60 overnight sites (27 serviced, 33 unserviced, including 7 camping cabins including a replica lighthouse cabin, 1 glamping tent and 1 rental trailer) + 8 seasonal sites.

On-site trailer rental: This luxurious unit – 38′ with 3 slides – offers all the comforts of home. Equipped with master bedroom with king-size bed, leather living room furniture with pullout couch. Satellite TV and electric fireplace in living room. Three-piece bath (all towels and linens provided). Kitchen with full-size fridge, stove, kettle, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, all dishes, pots and cutlery.  Outdoors, your own deck with BBQ, picnic table and fire pit. Sorry, no pets or smoking in trailer.
Guest amenities include flush toilets, showers, fire pits with grills, picnic shelter, disposal station, coin laundromat, and wood. Free high-speed Internet access is available at our campground office. Pets are permitted but must be kept on a leash and owners must clean up after pet.

We are a proud member of the Tourism Industry Association of Nova Scotia and the Campground Owners’ Association of Nova Scotia.

Cancellation Policy: must cancel 48 hours prior to day of arrival to avoid credit card charge.
