Discover a part of the rich Mi'kmaw heritage of Unama'ki! During Louisbourg’s French occupation, the Mi’kmaq played a vital role, supporting the community through knowledge sharing and, in times of war, supporting the French in two sieges. The Indigenous Interpretation Centre at the Fortress of Louisbourg is a special place to talk about Mi’kmaw history through images, artifacts, dance, songs, traditional drumming and storytelling.
