Town Heroes
Whether a sweaty rock show or an intimate acoustic environment, The Town Heroes want you to be entertained.
Born and raised in small-town Nova Scotia, Mike Ryan and Bruce Gillis have played together for the past 12 years — touring the world, releasing 6 critically acclaimed albums and winning an array of industry awards. Anthemic choruses, danceable arrangements, and tender falsettos highlight their catchy yet thoughtful songs. At heart, a perfect soundtrack for contemplating life with a bounce in your step.
Musically, the band blends their 90’s alt-rock influences with singer-songwriter stylings in the vein of Neil Young or Ryan Adams. On stage they move like intense caricatures – soaked in sweat, pushing every chord, note and beat to the limit.
They released their 6th album “Home” — a concept album about a two-week period during the summer of 1999 in Cape Breton — in August, 2021.
Elyse Aeryn (duo)
Elyse Aeryn is emerging on the Canadian music scene with a fresh yet nostalgic sound. Influenced by rock classics like Stevie Nicks while capturing the essence of 90s female vocalists like Alanis Morissette and Natalie Merchant, Aeryn is blending the decades to mix up an alternative-rock-country cocktail that will have you asking for a double. With a big sound and an undeniable stage presence, her and guitarist Garrett Taylor serve up an engaging live experience as they fuse powerful vocals and electrifying riffs.
After leaving an engineering career to pursue a passion for songwriting, music production, and performing, Aeryn is wasting no time. Sharing the stage with the likes of The Crash Test Dummies, The Town Heroes, Andre Pettipas and The Giants, and more, expect to hear more of Elyse Aeryn as she makes a name for herself across the Maritimes and beyond.
Watch for Elyse Aeryn’s debut full-length album in fall 2022.
Be sure to spend some time in town before and after the show – grab a bite to eat, visit the shops and stay for the night.
