Jordan Musycsyn is a hard-working singer/songwriter and a masterful storyteller writing songs about life and love with pathos and humour in a Folk-Country style. He sustains a busy touring schedule throughout Canada in support of his sophomore album ‘Old State Of Mind’(2017, nominated for Music Nova Scotia award for best Americana album of the year). Drawing on his own life experiences he writes relatable songs of love, loss and the human condition. A dynamic performer, Jordan moves the audience from laughter to tears and back again. His first album ‘The Pitch’ (released in the fall of 2014) was nominated for 2 Music Nova Scotia awards. He has toured across the Maritimes and across Canada many times playing his songs solo, with his band, with the Cape Breton Summertime Revue and Tis The Season.
After many years ”off-island”, Jacob Noonan did as many Cape Breton’s do and returned home in 2019. With many years of playing across Maritime stages with Halifax-based “The Regal Beagle Band”, he was no stranger to connecting with an audience and getting them on the dance floor.
Like so many others, Jacob’s plans were postponed by Covid- yet he made the most of that time. Reflecting on his own experiences while delving deeper into his songwriting process, he penned new material as rich in emotion and storytelling as they are in tone & rhythm.
He also took this time to polish up his arsenal of cover tunes, exploring folk standards, 70s classics, some Canadiana and a healthy amount of classics from the many talented musicians of Cape Breton.
For the last year, Jacob has been reacquainting himself to audiences around the island as a solo act and most recently with the newly formed band “The Decades”. For an energetic and engaging experience, come check out a show!
Be sure to spend some time in town before and after the show – grab a bite to eat, visit the shops and stay for the night.
Tunes on the Town is a live music series in downtowns throughout Cape Breton Island during summer and fall 2022. The program is supported by funding from the Government of Canada through the Rediscover Main Streets program.
