Snowshoes were a necessity to our Mi’kmaq people who travelled by foot over all kinds of terrain.
There were many different types of snowshoes that were suited to different climates.
Traverse the land by snowshoe around Goat Island and surrounding area. Our guides will share the
history of Mi’kmaw people and guests can then get comfortable around a campfire to cook bannock and
drink tea. A demonstration on how to make snowshoes will be done prior to departure.
Maximum of 8 people per tour.
Cost: $30.00 per person
