The centerpiece of the inFlux Cross Cultural Arts Festival October is the World Premiere of Scott Macmillan’s Woodland Revival: a musical happening, on stage and under the trees,celebrating forest diversity. Yo-Yo Ma’s Silk Road meets Cape Breton, European mastery, Persian music and Mi’kmaw drummers. Award-winning guitarist/composer Scott Macmillan’s broad sense of music and environmental awareness is at the forefront of Woodland Revival, Saturday October 5th 3:00pm, $20.
Invigorated by 97-year old Gaelic scholar, Sr. Margaret MacDonnell, her 1965 Harvard treatise “Sacred Trees of Ireland” and her expression of concern, “The trees in Nova Scotia are in trouble; someone should compose music for them and that should be Jennyfer and you!”, I dedicate this piece to her.
