Kina’masultinej (“Let’s Learn Together”), features the work of four distinct, contemporary Mi’kmaq beaders from Eskasoni and Membertou. Incorporating various materials, including beads, sweetgrass, porcupine quills, wood, glass, shells and ceramics into their work, Dannerri Anne Marie Gould, Rosalee Doucette-MacNeil, Jocelyn Marshall and Neve Stevens each present intricate works that highlight traditional techniques and non-traditional subjects to provide a glimpse into the art of contemporary beading in Una’maki. The exhibition runs September 14 – February 21.
